How to make money blogging (Part 1): Setting up your blog

Ever thought you could make money by blogging? If you did, you were right! Even though it takes some time, you can get started today and earn money blogging.


So, tell me how to get started!

First things first, you need to understand how to make money blogging.

Take into account you will need a specific topic for your blog, simply because you want traffic (people checking your site), so that they click on ads you placed on your blog and companies pay you! And the best way to get free traffic is being recognized by Google (or other search engines, as a matter of fact) as a relevant site for your keywords.

As an example, if I want to make money through blogging:

* Bad example: I make a blog about everything I find interesting; like cars, sports and computers. I will never be recognized by Google as a good, reliable source of information.


* Good example: Following the past example, a good way to make money would be making 3 blogs: one about each topic I´m into. That way, I have a better chance of being recognized by Google, and getting free traffic.

After all you´ve read, you should already know that you need to think of a good blog topic. If you still haven't, I´ll wait for you... Now, before making your blog, make sure the name you choose for it expresses exactly what your blog is about. That will make it easier for search engines to recognize your site´s main topic, thus making it easier for you to get traffic.

One last warning before you get down to creating your blog: You will make money off any blog you create, but if your blog is about something you really like, you will make more money from it. Simply put, you will make a bigger effort for a blog you are into, than for one you are only expecting to earn money from.

Now that you know this basic stuff, go to Blogger and get your account set up. Create your blog and make a first post on it, carefully following these instructions:

1. Make sure to start your post with a phrase that contains your keyword (s)
2. Make sure to include your keyword (s) and other related words a few times in your post, which should not be very long.
3. Make sure to finish your post with a phrase related to your chosen keywords.
4. Before posting, check the top. You will see that it lets you introduce a title, which should be related to your keywords.
